Try making a violet infused vinegar. Just fill a jar with flowers, cover with vinegar, close it and let it sit for a couple if weeks. Then strain.
Spruce tips dry well, and can be used year round. Spruce tea is very refreshing. Spruce also adds a nice flavor to meats, stews, crock pot meals, and pickles.
Harvest thistle shoots by cutting them near the base. Then gently grasp the base and use a sharp knife to carefully remove the leaves and peel the stalk.
